As a small independent business I am committed to playing my part in sustainability. I am predominantly a paper-free service with the aim to reduce waste and emissions. The majority of my services are delivered virtually which contributes to lower emissions by not travelling to and from a place of work.
I pledge to take pro-active steps towards improving sustainability, demonstrating a positive impact on the people and places in our community as well as helping Wales transition to a low carbon future.
I am proud to offer free menopause education events in my local community, working with with local services and partnering with the Menopause Experts Group to support best practice.
Not all people with periods and menopause identify as women, and not all people who identify as women have periods or menopause. It happens to people of differing genders, including transgender men (who have not fully transitioned) and were assigned the female gender at birth, and non-binary individuals, who identify as neither male nor female. Transgender women can experience menopause symptoms but not menopause.
I recognise that I use the term 'women' throughout my website. This is not used to diminish the experience of trans-men or non-binary people, but rather include all of those that will or who have experienced menstruation, perimenopause and menopause. Whatever pronouns we use, we will all have similar symptoms and experiences.
There are differences in biological and hormonal changes in women of different races and ethnicity. There are significant differences among women’s perceptions, attitudes and expectations surrounding menopause, and this is hugely influenced by their race, culture and ethnicity.
Racial, ethnic, cultural and sexual bias can lead to a number of health inequalities and inequitable access to healthcare.
Discrimination can increase the risk of unfair treatment and poor quality care including accurate advice, support and guidance and/or appropriate and relevant treatments.
I pledge take pro-active steps towards creating an inclusive service which embraces and celebrates diversity. I will create space for diverse perspectives and experiences to be shared. I commit to challenge my own biases, educate myself further about the experiences of others, and actively advocate for change. I will strive for my clients feel seen, heard and valued.
